The only things you need to have a successful wine night are good company and good wine (we highly recommend Barefoot for other young broke adults, but you may need two bottles, unless we’re just alcoholics…). Not only is wine drunk the BEST drunk you can experience, but it’s also the perfect drink that you can either wind the night up or down with. Have we sold you yet? No? Well, here are some activities that are sure to change your mind.
Let’s get the night started by winding it up. Here are our favorite fast-paced games, sure to get you exactly where you want to be. A personal favorite is Fortnite; you may have to steal your little brother’s Xbox or PS5, no console slander here, but we swear it’s a good time. You’re going to be so thankful for that bottle of wine when you get rage baited by those try-hard, middle school children. Now, this game varies “by user”. On a two-man we played where everyone took turns, and if someone got a kill, everyone had to take a LARGE sip of their wine. If you’re good (like us), you’ll be drinking a lot, which is preferred. However, if you suck, there are other ways to play, orrr maybe this game just isn’t for you. We’ve seen it played the other ways, but ours is just better. If you aren’t big on gaming (you’re missing out), here are some card games that require no skill whatsoever, and all that’s needed is a deck of cards. Cheers to the governor, king’s cup, ride the bus, and high or low are all games we play regularly. They’re fun, fast-paced, and great for all groups ranging from 3 or more people.
That’s enough fast-paced fun, let’s wind it down. Take us back to the late 2010s when slime took over the entire internet. If you’re like us, your parents hated slime so much in the house that it was banned. But now that we’re adults, it’s time for slime to make a comeback. Paired nicely with the winding-down activities. We hosted a slime night, where we included wine, phone games, and slime (obviously) to make for a special laid-back evening. There are also some less messy ways to have a casual wine night. Skincare and a comfort show is one of the best ways to go, especially paired with a favorite snack. Our go-to show to turn on would have to be Gilmore Girls. We’re unfortunately a house divided on terms of which boy to cheer for, so leave your opinions in the comments. Now just add chips and queso, and it’s the perfect night for us! Another common wine night theme is Sims game night (with the occasional Taco Bell). Last time it was Sims and wine night, we had the grand idea of walking from our house, the .4 miles to Taco Bell. Just to find out that Taco Bell doesn’t let you inside at that location after 10, and won’t let you pick up your food without a car in the drive-thru for workers’ safety reasons?? So make sure you appropriately plan for how hungry you get during your wine night. For those of you who haven’t gotten hooked on the whole Sims path, we recently discovered a great phone game, “wholiked”, where you try to guess who liked/resposted what video. Disclaimer: to see what your friends reposted, it does cost money. But it’s still a great way to try and guess who liked what videos. It does get a little frustrating when you and your friends have the same sense of humor, and you think it was a post you liked, but they were talking about your friend, who had liked it as well.
Hopefully, we’ve convinced you by now. We look forward to hearing all about your wine night experiences.
